|Health Canada has awarded Natural Product Numbers (NPNs) for all of SierraSil Health Inc’s products. The NPNs replace Extension Numbers (ENs) that were temporary permits. The approved “recommended use or purpose” for SierraSil Pain Free Topical Spray (NPN 80038018) is “Temporarily relieves of minor aches and pains of muscles and joints associated with backache, arthritis, strains, bruises and sprains” and for SierraSil Joint Formula14 capsules (NPN 80039305) and powder (NPN 80039306) is “Used in the temporary relief of joint pain”.The awarding of NPN follows extensive clinical research and substantial history of use. The research on SierraSil’s Joint Formula14 has included two randomized double blind placebo controlled studies of over 100 patients each, additional human studies, published mechanism of action research, and high dosage safety studies. This first hand clinical evaluation is unmatched among proprietary natural joint health products in Canada. In the completion of being awarded our NPN’s, we would like to acknowledge the diligent work of key staff Caroline Eve and Michael Rowley and vendors including research partners Verdic Life Sciences and KGK Synergize, Canadian regulatory advisor Gowlings Lawyers, and our contract manufacturers. As a result of the NPNs, no changes are required to our Pain Free Topical Spray packaging. Packaging with the NPN is expected to be on retail shelves by March 2013. The Joint Formula14 products will receive new labels replacing “joint health and mobility” with the NPN recommended use. The current label will continue in production through February, and a new label should be available for March production and be on store shelves in May 2013.We would like to thank the tens of thousands of loyal SierraSil customers, our natural health and pharmacy retail partners, and our distributors.
